Welcome to your newsletter for week ending March 14th
We've ended the week with a fabulous Guitar and Ukulele Concert and then after school, the PTA (supported by willing volunteers!) celebrated the festival of Holi with music, dancing, food and colour! The children certainly enjoyed the 'throwing' of colours- it was an incredibly magical and heart-warming site!
As you may remember, we are working with Sampad who are an organisation who promote and support South Asian Arts. Our Year 6 children are working on a drama piece, symbolising the City of Empire to City of Diversity story, Year 4 children are in the process of compiling a dance piece that showcases different styles of South Asian Dance and our Year Twos have just had their second art workshop. We are hoping that all these elements will come together to form part of our next Celebrating our Cultures Day on April 4th- look our for more details nearer the time.

It can be difficult to know the best way to support our children when they are experiencing big emotions. Emotion coaching is a way of helping children to become more aware of their emotions and to manage their own feelings. And finally...
Thankyou families for being so good with providing us with feedback. Please be reassured that all comments, whether they be shared through the Parent/ Carer surveys, emails to head@ or chats on the playground are considered. Much of our school development plan this year incorporates feedback from you (such as families wanting to be kept more up-to-date on how children are doing in school). If you don't see changes straight away, please let us reassure you that it doesn't mean we've forgotten about things- we are busy working behind the scenes and we hope that in time, you see steady changes that are carefully considered, tested and properly implemented- all leading to improvements for our children.
We hope you all have a good weekend and whether you are celebrating Holi or not, we hope you get the chance to celebrate the joy of colours and the happiness of being with family and friends.
Looking forward to seeing you on Monday!
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children’s best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information, and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
