Welcome to your newsletter for week ending February 7th

It's been a super week at school and we've ended on a high with Number Day. We saw some amazing outfits from Number Blocks to calculators to a show jumping champion!

We have been focusing on Children's Mental Week and we have been using the Place2Be resources (with plenty of Inside Out resources!). Along with plenty of myHappymind activities, children have been exploring emotions and feelings and how we manage them all.

Next week we are welcoming a travelling exhibition called 'City of Empire to City of Diversity'. This is part of our partnership with Sampad who 'connect people and communities to South Asian and British Asian Arts and Heritage by breaking down barriers, raising critical issues and amplifying unheard voices.' The exhibition will be open to families after school every day so you can come and visit. Please see the 'what's coming up' below for timings.

Pease do look at the calendar here to check future dates for opportunities to come into school after half term.

Children's Mental Health Week

The theme for this year’s Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week is ‘Grow Yourself, Know Yourself,’ and  is all about exploring the importance of self-awareness and expressing emotions. A group of children enjoyed exploring different emotions through colour mixing and creating calming sensory bottles. Some KS2 children also had fabulous time working together to build a den, spending time inside listening to calming music and doing some mindful colouring.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children’s best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information, and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
